ELLE: The Shoot That Almost Didn't Happen

Ituen Basi's Spring/Summer 2014 'Ekemini' collection was featured in Elle South Africa January/February 2014 issue. Exciting!

For Elle South Africa's Jan/Feb Issue they featured designers from across the continent! According to Poppy Evans, Fashion Editor "Not only is Africa rising - it's on top!" She was asked what her favorite item of the shoot was and she goes "Can't pick i'm afraid, although I want everything from Ituen Basi".

It was a struggle to get the Ituen Basi garments to South Africa in time for the shoot but it was all worth it! Everyone could not believe the clothes made it for the shoot. Poppy Evans said "I was super desperate to shoot the Ituen Basi garments, myself and the designer had to get a friend of hers to bring the clothes from Nigeria, then arrange for someone to fetch them and then get a same day delivery from Joburg to Cape Town - We hung around on set after a 10-hour day till 7pm waiting for them to land - but it was worth it!"
